So you’re scrolling through Instagram or Facebook tapping away and suddenly you stop. Something has caught your eye so you stop to take a closer look. 9 times out of 10 you’ve stopped to watch a video.

In today’s society, great content is so prevalent that you have to make really stand-out content to really cut through the noise, and in our opinion, there is nothing quite like a great video to do just that.

So, in case you aren’t already convinced, here are some reasons why we believe video content is so essential for your digital marketing strategy, and how to go about incorporating it into your everyday content.

 Increases Conversion

Don’t just take our word for it, facts speak truth. On average, consumers retain 95% of information presented in videos rather than the 10% from a chunk of text. Forbes discovered that due to the visual nature of videos, 80% of users can recall a video ad they’ve seen in the past 30 days. A video provides actionable information, which helps viewers to make informed buying decisions, so it’s no wonder that around 74% of people who watch a product video buy it. Now that we know that a video is much more likely to resonate with potential buyers than a block of text, it’s no surprise that a product video on a website landing page can also increase conversion by 80%.

 Builds Brand Credibility

Trust is the key ingredient in gaining customer loyalty and a video can generate significantly more trust than a chunk of text or infographics. When looking to buy a product, consumers are far more likely to choose a product if they are able to view a video, as it gives them more confidence in the product and the brand itself. Videos help consumers visualise exactly what the product looks like and how it works, which is helpful in the buyer’s decision process.

 Stands Out

It goes without saying, but videos are one of the best ways to ensure your brand stands out on social media. The future of the internet is mobile, as a study recently predicted that around 72% of Internet users will use just their mobile to access the web by 2025. Therefore, to ensure you are ahead of the ever-changing times, the best thing you can do for your business right now is ensure that all of your content, especially video, going forward is optimised for a mobile device (as well as obviously making sure your brand has a social media presence.)

 Improves Google Ranking

One of the ways to improve your Google ranking is to increase the time a viewer spends on a page on your website, rather than just clicking through pages, as this will signal to search engines that your website has high quality content. Having a video on your landing or product page, will help with this increase if the viewer chooses to watch it and will also boost engagement on your site.

 Grow Your Audience

In this day and age, value is not necessarily ascertained by the amount of engagement you receive on your post, but often by how many times a piece of content is shared. Word of mouth still remains one of the most impactful ways to grow a business, and what better way to get the word out there about your product than creating some great content which users want to share and pass on to others. If your video goes viral, you’ve nailed it.

 Examples of Video Content

By now you may have decided you need to get cracking on some video content for your brand but don’t know where to begin. So, here are some examples of videos you could make:

  • Testimonials

  • Product Demonstrations

  • Promotional Videos/Campaign Videos

  • Behind the Scenes

  • Talking Head Videos

We're Still Here To Deliver Your Message

So as you’re most likely aware the world is facing a global pandemic known as COVID-19. Something this dramatic has been unheard of for the past century. It continues to affect businesses and individuals but despite the disruption, Bold Media continues to adapt to help our customers deliver their message, whilst ensuring the safety of our clients. As shoots and meeting clients aren’t possible at the moment, we are making use of working from home and focusing on the post-production side.

There are many work arounds for not being able to capture new content, this can be done using stock footage and simple graphics. For existing clients, archive material from previous projects can often be re-edited and shaped to form a new narrative. Ever since we started Bold Media it has always been our goal to form lasting partnerships with our clients and produce films that inspire, inform and educate. In these challenging times, we will continue to be here for clients old and new, helping them to deliver their message and adapt to the developing situation.

Take a look at our portfolio for inspiration and give us a call or drop us an email for advice and guidance on how we can help you create effective video and photo content for your business/brand.

Whilst being in isolation I’ve had some time to think about the bigger picture in this whole global pandemic. I’ve seen that a lot of companies have had to adapt simply just to survive, for example pubs are now offering delivery and collection options. Face to face meetings are now being done over things like zoom and FaceTime. Key workers and the NHS are working round the clock and soldiering through these tough times to keep the country afloat. I also thought, how will businesses operate and what will people’s ways of living be like once everything goes back to “normal”? I feel like there is no better time than right now to reflect upon yourself, set new goals, plan a new project or learn a new skill/craft. In times of adversity comes innovation and growth.

The Importance of Property Video

If you’re a real estate agent or just looking to list your property on the market, then a virtual tour and aerial video can provide a lot of value for you. Let me explain…

I’ve been working with estate agents throughout Cheshire for the past few years now, providing aerial video and photos through the use of drones. Drones are a fairly new technology and have a seen a rapid increase in commercial use. Many industries are slowly introducing the use of drones to carry out tasks that weren’t previously possible. These include surveying, disaster relief and property/construction.

Having worked with real estate agencies for the past 4 years, I have seen the positive impact it has on the conversion rate for properties sold and website traffic. Virtual tour videos can save a lot of time and effort for the buyer, as they get an in-depth view of their desired home from any location (providing they have an internet connection). Aerial footage of a property and surrounding areas is a game changer as very few estate agents are using this technology. Through having this elevated view, it now makes it possible to achieve professional looking shots with an unmanned aircraft at a relatively low budget whilst still being just as effective if not more. Back in the day this involved a pilot flying a helicopter and a camera operator hanging out the side of it! Most of the latest high end drones now have the ability to shoot video up to 4K and coupling this with an experienced operator and editor can produce some truly stunning results. With a bird’s eye view of the property, it really gives the buyer a sense of scale for the property and where it sits in regards to it’s location. Often when buyers first see drone footage it completely draws them in and keeps them fully engaged with the video. After viewing they are left with that impression of “WOW”.

From an agencies point of view, they can really capitalise from this. For example - certain properties benefit from an aerial video if they contain a large amount of surrounding land. On average if it normal takes 6 weeks to sell a house, that’s 6 weeks that it’s on the market, meaning the agency can’t take on another property. If they can provide potential clients with an aerial/internal virtual tour video of the property and successfully sell it within half the average time period. That then means they can take on another house, which in the long term will result in double the amount of properties sold and double the amount of yearly income. I’ll let you think about that one…

In 2020 there is no better time to use video marketing methods. As a visual species, humans find videos more engaging, more memorable and more popular than any other type of content out there. Video as a means of storytelling and advertising is no longer a nice option – it’s a necessity. If you want to increase conversion and exposure, a video marketing strategy is the only way to go.

  • Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to 10% when reading it in text.

  • Including a video on your landing page can boost your conversion rate by up to 80%

  • 97% of marketers say video has helped users gain a better understanding of their products and services.
